The Bank Indonesia Consumer Confidence Survey in May 2024 indicates that consumer confidence on current economic conditions is still maintained. It reflected from the survey results that the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) is at 125.2 for the month of May-2024, it is remain above the optimism number (>100). However CCI in May-2024 was lower compared to CCI April-24 which was at 127.7 and May-23 which was at 128.3.

The decline in ICC was driven by a decline in the Current Economic Conditions Index (CECI) and Consumer Expectations Index (CEI). CECI in May-2024 was recorded at 115.4, or down from the previous month which was recorded at 119.4. Meanwhile, CEI was recorded at 135.0 or down from the previous month which was recorded at 136.0.

The survey was conducted in 18 big cities throughout Indonesia namely Greater Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Medan, Palembang, Banjarmasin, Bandar Lampung, Makassar, Samarinda, Denpasar, Padang, Pontianak, Manado, Mataram, Pangkal Pinang, Ambon, and Banten.
